Homemade Pizza
I know that homemade pizza can seem daunting, and not worth the effort because it is so easy to call for delivery. But during these trying times, I am reluctant to order food from any where at this point. I would like to share with you the easiest pizza dough recipe.
This recipe is from the Food Processor Bible by Norene Gilletz. The dough literally comes together in minutes and doesn’t have any rise time. Put on your sauce and your favourite toppings and you have a custom, homemade pizza worth gossiping about!
Homemade Pizza Dough
Yield: 2 medium pizzas
INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg instant dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
2 3/4 cup flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup lukewarm water
Toppings:
1 cup favourite bottles pizza sauce
Dried oregano, sprinkle
2 cups shredded cheese
Vegetables of choice
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water. Set aside for 10 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in a food processor, pulse together flour, sugar and salt for 6 seconds.
3. Add the yeast mixture and pulse another 10 seconds.
4. Combine warm water and oil in a separate glass.
5. With the food processor on, drizzle in the liquid until the dough gathers into a ball and then process for another 30 seconds.
6. Remove dough from food processor, may be somewhat sticky.
7. Divide dough in half. Knead on a floured surface and roll our onto a greased pizza pan. Repeat with second ball.
8. Allow dough to rest 10 minutes before placing on toppings.
9. Place on sauce, oregano, cheese and toppings.
10. Bake in 425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes, until crust is crispy and golden and cheese is melted. Enjoy!
