Caramilk Cookies

I don’t know about you, but Caramilk is one of my favourite chocolate bars. I thought that these bars would make the perfect cookie because you have the outer layer of milk chocolate and then when you bite into it, the gooey caramel oozes out!

These cookies, did not disappoint. I used my favourite cookie dough by @hostthetoast, but I cut the recipe in half. I baked the cookies most of the way through, added on the Caramilk square and baked an additional 2 minutes. This would work with any chocolate square… I’m thinking next time to try a Mars bar…

Give these cookies a try, because they are certainly worth gossiping about!

Caramilk Cookies

Yield: 25 cookies

INGREDIENTS:
3 Caramilk chocolate bars, broken into squares
1 cup + 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tbsps butter, melted and cooled
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed*
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large bowl, beat together the cooled melted butter and the sugars with a hand mixer for about one minute. Then, add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Beat until just combined.
2. Add in the baking soda, cornstarch and flour. Mix briefly, just until combined.
3. Scoop out about a small tablespoon of dough and roll into a small ball. Place on lined baking sheet. Continue until all the dough is used.
4. Before baking, press down the dough balls with your hand. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and bang the cookie sheet on the counter a few times. Add one square of Caramilk into the center of each cookie. Place back into the oven and bake an additional 2 minutes.
5. Remove from the oven and bang on the counter top again a few more times. Allow cookies to cool 10 minutes before placing on a cooling rack to fully cool. Enjoy!
